Direct Balancing - Circus and Aerial Experience

How awesome is Aerialize!  A huge thank you to the Aerialize Team …you made us believe we could contort our bodies with ease (you guys made it look so simple!), highlighted the importance of the corporate hat (I bags the bunny ears next time!), proved it didn’t matter how many balls were in the air  and, of course, gave us a new marketing technique – “Zoom zoom screech zap”. Truly inspirational!  We loved every minute of it.

Experience a unique circus workshop offering participants an unforgettable introduction into a wide range of circus and aerial skills. Participants will be encouraged to be creative, challenge themselves and have fun together.

Our "Direct Balancing" Workshop is geared towards improving communication skills, trust and creativity for people in a challenging work environment.

People need a variety of skills in our fast-paced work environment. Juggling tasks, balancing acts, managing risk, quick decision making and placing trust in colleagues are essential tools that our workshops will highlight in a lively and dynamic manner for the participant. Workshop participants will be encouraged to think creatively and laterally throughout the session.

By learning a range of circus and performance skills participants in our workshops will:

- work in a creative and physical environment that encourages skill-sharing, and a sense of play.
- develop a strong sense of trust through improved communication methods.
- build confidence through a physical awareness and increase communication, group co-operation and stimulate imagination.
- challenge themselves to go beyond pre-existing limitations to achieve new goals.
- break down inhibitions.
- confront personal fears in the presence of work colleagues.
- be progressive in a group environment.

Aerialize can design and cater a team building experience for your particular specifications. We run workshops in our own space, which we recommend, as you will be able to participate in the aerial component or we can come to you or your conference venue..

Description
The 3 hour session begins with fun and dynamic drama games to establish strong group dynamics. The group will be broken into smaller groups and they will take part in skills development with our professional circus instructors. There is a change room for participants and a kitchen from where food can be served.

Skills development
Breaking into small groups (depending of the size of the group), participants will then take part in skills development with our professional instructors.
The group will be instructed in the following skills;

1. Acro-balance & acrobatics - together the group will learn how to balance on one another and build human pyramids. Participants will develop a strong sense of trust with one another and enhance their group co-operation skills.

2. Aerials & tight rope
- Learning to climb a rope, hang upside down from a trapeze and balance along a thin piece of wire. Overcoming a fear of heights, working in a risk environment and encouraging peers are some of the skills developed in this activity.

3. Performance Making
- drama games and performance making skills that are fun and great for developing on the spot creative and lateral thinking. Juggling, hula hoops, devil sticks and diablo will be taught in this session.

Presentation
The circus is all about performing. The group will be asked to work together, with an instructor, using the skills they have learnt to devise a performance to show each other. Although a great challenge, Circus Arts is a non-confronting experience. Instructors will work with each individual's ability to bring out the best in them and the group.
