Aerialize is a not-for-profit aerial and circus arts organisation with a proud history of training, performance, creativity and community. Our Management Committee plays an important role in supporting the organisation’s direction, governance and long-term sustainability.

Committee members help make sure Aerialize continues to operate safely, responsibly and in the best interests of our members, students, performers, staff and wider community.

Why join the committee?

Joining the Management Committee is a meaningful way to contribute to the Aerialize community. You do not need to be a circus expert to make a valuable contribution. We welcome people with a range of skills, backgrounds and perspectives.

You may be able to help with areas such as:

• Governance and strategy
• Finance, accounting or business management
• Risk, safety or compliance
• Fundraising, grants or sponsorship
• Marketing and communications
• Events, production or arts administration
• Facilities, operations or asset management
• Community engagement
• People, culture or volunteer support

Most importantly, we are looking for people who care about Aerialize and want to help it thrive.

What committee members do

Committee members attend regular meetings, contribute to discussions, help make decisions and support agreed actions. The committee works as a team and acts in the best interests of Aerialize as a whole.

Committee members are expected to:

• Attend committee meetings regularly
• Participate in decision-making
• Respect confidentiality
• Declare any conflicts of interest
• Support committee decisions once they are agreed
• Take on tasks or sub-committee work where appropriate
• Promote Aerialize in a positive and constructive way

Committee members are elected for a two-year term.

Who we are looking for

We welcome expressions of interest from people who are reliable, collaborative and willing to contribute their skills and time.

You may be a current or past student, performer, parent, community member, arts worker, business professional or someone with specialist experience that could support Aerialize’s future.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with skills in finance, governance, fundraising, marketing, risk, safety, legal, HR, events, community engagement or not-for-profit management.
